Description
Summary:In this paper we analyze actual figures of the use of twitter which are contrasted with the theory of virtual communities of Nielsen (2006), with emphasis on the analysis of the account @chavezcandanga of former president Hugo Chavez. The data was obtained from the analytical social networking platforms that processes the Twitter API and international research centers. We conclude that in the case of the virtual community of the @chavezcandanga account the characteristics of social networks are harnessed as an innovative practice in e-government and Nielsen formulations are met.
