Summary:The article is represented its content in a form of a dialogue between ancient characters. In dialogue of Zeus and Hermes the problem of the relationship with our historical and cultural past and present, the interpretation of possibilities and limits of the artifacts of the past are discussed. The author has shown that museum attitude to antiquity should be complemented by the practice of its «translation» in the cultural language of our time. The main rule of interpretation is the rule of relevance values. It suggests that the reconstructed material has to be included in the own intellectual horizon of the interpreter. In other words, it is a reality of the one who understands. In the process of its historical life humanity has developed a large arsenal of possibilities of own existence, the using of which makes now the possibilities to resolve a lot of serious conflicts besetting the contemporary world.
