Summary:The paper examines the development of a knowledge management strategy in science-intensive aviation industry projects. The model of planning and implementation of   knowledge preservation strategy. The model is the integration of the management system "Balanced Scorecard" and the knowledge management model of I. Nonaka and H. Takeuchi. The proposed model is aimed at preserving the critical knowledge and competences of science-intensive aviation industry projects and describes the sequence of stages in the process of developing and implementing a knowledge management strategy for aviation industry projects. The model was tested in the science-intensive educational project "ECOTESY". Approbation has shown positive dynamics of influence on the key indicators of success of the knowledge management strategy of science-intensive aviation industry projects.
