Cuba: The Postponed Democracy

<p>This essay presents some of the major Cuba’s democratic shortcomings nowadays. With a theoretical and practical approach, the author establishes a dialogue between his experiences and the conceptual contributions of prominent contemporary social scientists. He explains, “particratic”, bureaucratic and post-totalitarian performance of the Cuban’s “state socialism”, and its adverse consequences for citizenship. Finally, he analyzes the development of the ongoing reforms and, in this context, he exposes the fundamental pillars that the democratization of Cuban society should include</p>
