Results of the content analysis reveal that “development”, “education”, “research” and “knowledge” are words with the highest frequency, confirming similar studies in the past. Dimensions of sustainability are not equally distributed in mission statements of engineering and other institutions. The dimension of environmental sustainability is more exposed in engineering higher education institutions.
