Summary: | Atherosclerosis is a chronic progressive disease leading to the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in artery walls, narrowing its lumen. In this work, we present a mathematical model of atherosclerosis development for the concentrations of cells and cytokines of innate immunity. This system describes a chronic inflammatory response in the intima of an artery vessel wall. The stationary points and their stability for reduced kinetic systems of two and five ODEs are investigated. The relationship of the obtained results is analyzed, and their biological interpretation is given. |
