Summary:Although some studies have been conducted about the importance of the family in Islam about strengthening the family, the main feature of this research is the neglect of religious doctrines review from pathological viewpoint of couples’ gender-based functions. The present author claims that there is no theorizing and a comprehensive look at the family in Iran; therefore, couples’ gender-based functions are, to some extent, led to undermining and threatening the family. This paper aimed at extracting the original views of the Holy Qur'an to investigate the couples’ gender-based functions. The research method is descriptive. Data collection methods were based library and their tools were index card. In this study, qualitative analysis was used to analyze the data. This article attempted to examine the problems of families on the basis of the Qur’anic viewpoint and investigated the pathological functions of gender-based couples, and represented the consequences of this process in the field of family. The results of this study are the representation of the male and female gender-based pathological functions from the Holy Qur’an viewpoint.
