Description
Summary:
The present project presented cinematographic productions made by deaf subjects or ones that represent the culture of this linguistic minority. The purpose of this proposal is to present and discuss the 'deaf' audiovisual productions in order to better understand how the deaf subject appropriates the cinematographic language and uses their propensity to visualize their culture through cinema. To achieve this goal, research was carried out on cinematographic works by deaf filmmakers or hearing filmmakers who represent the deaf culture around the world. Subsequently, the most expressive works were selected to be screened in the film club sessions. After each session, a discussion was conducted, guided by questions about the language, aesthetics and representation of the deaf in cinema.
