Here, the role of autophagy in the development of malignant transformation of gastric tumors, and the underlying mechanisms involved in autophagy formation, and the application of targeted autophagy in the treatment of gastric cancer were summarized.Keywords: autophagy, gastric cancer, autophagy-related genes, lysosomes, targeted therapy
