Description
Summary:Renal calculus is a common urolithiasis, and PCNL and FURL have already become the most commonly used methods of minimally invasive surgery. For treatment of simple renal pelvis and calyx stones, FURL has slightly lower stone-free rate than PCNL but with less blood loss, shorter hospital stay and less surgical trauma. PCNL combined with FURL treatment of staghorn calculi can reduce the number of puncture channels, improve the stone-free rate and reduce postoperative complications. During the treatment of calyceal diverticulum calculi, PCNL has the obvious advantage in treating middle renal calyx latter group stones and bottom renal calyx diverticulum stones, and as for treatment of middle renal calyx front group stones and upper renal calyx stones, FURL shall be the preference. It is thus clear that flexible ureteroscope couldn’t completely replace the percutaneous nephroscope, and complementary combination of the two is the future direction of development of minimally invasive surgery for renal calculus.
