Historians have therefore tried to study the impact of the First World War in a broader temporal and geographical frame, insisting on the rivalry between regional authorities and, on the other hand, on the rivalry between great powers. The enlargement of prospect spurs, however, also to analyse the evolution of the colonial encounter at the local level by taking into account the convergences and adaptations between the different figures of the colonial society in loco. The following study is thus based on the specific cases of the Libyan soldiers sent in Sicily during the war, and on the political and union demands of the labour movement in Tripoli in the immediate post-war period.http://journals.openedition.org/remmm/9827LibyacolonisationFirst World WarLibyan soldierslabour movementTripoli |
