Summary:Analysis of students spelling errors causes is based on the theory of speech activity and patterns of written speech learning. Spelling is considered as an action carried out in three stages. The focus is on the stage of choice, the factors that provide competent writing and conscious choice are being studied, a description of the strategies of choice of writing, due to the peculiarities of thinking of students in grades 5-8 is given.
