Description
Summary:This article presents the results of a study of the lexicon used by a group of gay men in Santiago de Cali, Colombia. The research included a morphological and semantic analysis of a corpus of 206 terms, collected in situations of spontaneous speech. The aim of such research is to identify the mechanisms of lexical creation of this community and to establish the semantic fields in which these words are used. The results suggest that lexical creation is linked to the creation and reaffirmation of social identity in this community.
