Description
Summary:Collaboration has been recognised as an effective mean to foster the performance of research organisations. Throughout the years, numerous initiatives and investments have been made towards building research capacity and promoting collaborative research. With a focus on the effects of the implementation of a distributed Research Infrastructure on Marine Sciences – the European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC-ERIC), this study applies bibliometric approaches and social network theory to examine the structure, characteristics and trends in the collaboration network of the European Marine Sciences research community over the last 20 years.
