Summary:Currently, both in theory and in the practice of teaching foreign languages, a situation has emerged that calls for a critical revision of existing approaches to the organization and conduct of the educational process, the development of methodological recommendations that would open up prospects for real progress in mastering a foreign language by students as a means communication. This article discusses the basic principles of communicative grammar at primary school. Moreover, reveals the differences between communicative and non-communicative approaches in teaching.
