Summary:The article discusses the problems of communicative counseling. The latter is regarded as a branch of applied linguistics, related to the optimization of the hominization function of language and speech. Communicative counseling involves: 1) the application of knowledge about the structure and functioning of language in order to improve the use of a sublanguage or a language and communicative competence of personality, 2) a set of procedures designed to help people in solving communication problems and making important decisions in the field of professional, personal and interpersonal communication. The paper dealt with specific areas of communicative counseling.
