Such strength can be utilized optimally by making laminated bamboo beams in zig-zag lamina. The objective of this reserach is to compare the shear and flexural strength of laminated bamboo beam with zig-zag bamboo beam and rectangular lamina. The dimensions of the shear and flexural beam of specimen were 63/100-900 mm and 63/100-2250 mm, respectively, with length of span of 750 mm and 2100 mm, respectively. The tests were carried out for two simple joint center, as well as for roll with two centered load. Each was positioned on the 1/3 of the length of span. Results indicated that the zig-zag limina for laminated bamboo beam (Z7BL; Z9BL; Z7BG; Z9BG) was stronger, more stiff and more ductile than rectangular shape lamina (P7BL; P9BL; P7BG; P9BG). Also, bamboo beam with lamina thickness of 7 mm (Z7BL; Z7BG; P7BL; P7BG) was stonger, more stiff and more ductile than bamboo beam with lamina thickness of 9 mm (Z9BL; Z9BG; P9BL; P9BG). The flexural strength of specimen beam P7BL, P9BL, Z7BL, Z9BL was 41,36; 46,14; 48,04; 36,66 N/mm2, respectively. The stiffnes was 297,86; 273,58; 292,11; 242,82 N/mm, with ductility of 4,97; 4,48; 4,20; 5,08, respetively.
