The majority of publications deal with the development of a “smart city” as a municipality and provide a method of ranking them by digitalization levels. This article uses the example of the recreation and tourism sector as an example to offer an assessment of digitalization within the industry, which will reveal competitive organizations within the industry. The article substantiates that the sphere of recreation and tourism as a direction of digital transformation of “smart resort” is a driver of development and implementation of IT technologies.
