Desenvolvimento Regional Sustentável no Grande ABC: análise das contribuições de uma instituição financeira brasileira

This work provided a reflection on the contributions of regional sustainable development plans (DRS) of Banco do Brasil (BB) to the region known as Grande ABC through the analysis of the plans offered by the institution in documents and website, as well as by interviews conducted with the plan's stakeholders. A bibliographic research has been made, where the concepts of development, regional development, sustainable development and sustainable regional development are discussed and detailed. Then, a document research has been made, which allowed the verifying of the data of the plans in the country and in the region of Grande ABC, also providing subsidies to the definition of the stakeholders interviewed in the survey. The methodology used was the exploratory research which focuses on better understanding and familiarization of the researcher and the matter being considered. It was found that the DRS plans at the Grande ABC still require new partnerships and actions that can boost their development, the need for bigger monitoring, control and dissemination of the concepts of DRS by Banco do Brasil; the concern in establishing strategic partnerships has been noticed, but still without the participation of the academy in a more constant way, finally, it is understood that the Regional Sustainable Development of Banco do Brasil at Grande ABC, according to their social, environmental, cultural and economic contributions, can not be considered an initiative that has significant impacts yet, but it is a way to search for funds and partnerships for the formulation of local and regional development initiatives.
