Summary:In this paper, a novel soft-switched interleaved DC-DC converter which provides a high voltage gain of 12 is proposed. Voltage gain of the basic interleaved boost converter is extended by using diode-capacitor multiplier (DCM) cells. The switches are operated at a nominal duty ratio of 0.5. The voltage stress on the power switches and diodes is only a fraction of the output voltage. To enhance the operating power conversion efficiency, the switches are turned ON at zero voltage condition. Experimental results of 18-216V, 100W prototype converter validate the operating principle and the advantageous features of the presented converter.
