Description
Summary:In this article is analyzed the expansion of higher education in Brazil, especially the private market in order to understand the reasons which pull to the formation of large oligopolies. We had investigated whether these clusters and how the new bourgeoisie of educational services drives the massive investments in the sector, forming oligopolies managed by the expansion, purchase and the merger of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and the opening of private ones with the capital of such companies on the stock market exchanges . To support such analysis it was used the search on books, articles, theses, journals and daily newspapers of national circulation. The results show that oligopolies are contributing to the transformation of higher education into a commodity and students in "customers-consumers", because its aim is to obtain profit. It is concluded that in this situation expresses the gap left by the Brazilian public policy, public facilities, including education, which enabled the hegemony of the private market in higher education.
