Formation of Volyn (Zhytomyr) Industrial College as the only higher technical educational institution of Volyn province

One hundred years ago, work began and in 1920 the first Higher Institution of Engineering Education of Volyn province was established. In the difficult conditions of the aftermath of the Civil War and the rebuilding of the industry, in the absence of funding and, sometimes, food, business enthusiasts have made titanic efforts to re-establish the educational process in existing ones and to start new higher education institutions. The results of this activity are reflected in the works of direct participants of the events - G. Hrynko, Y. Rappo, Y. Zvigalsky, as well as in the thorough research works by S. Siropolko, S. Mayborody, V. Lipynsky, A. Vorokha, M. Miroshnichenko, I. Likarchuk, M. Kharlamov. The purpose of the study is to analyze the organization and development of the Volyn Industrial College and to highlight the activities of the provincial vocational education department in this area.
