Durante el provincialato del padre Diego Álvarez de Paz (1616-1620), SJ, los jesuitas habían explorado individualmente la mística y la espiritualidad en su vertiente contemplativa, pero su espacio de difusión no fue la universidad sino los conventos de mujeres.http://www.raco.cat/index.php/IllesImperis/article/view/305669
