Summary:One of the objectives of the research to which this paper is linked is to understand the conditions of possibility of passage from a modern childhood to a contemporary childhood in the Brazilian context of the turn of the century. From this perspective, the article investigates how the kids youtubers, children with hundreds of thousands of subscribers on their YouTube channels, construct ways of being in the world through the production and dissemination of their videos. The analysis is based on the following argument: since "the walls of privacy" have been instrumental in building a modern childhood, their erosion is enabling increased visibility of children and their colonization in the public sphere, contributing to the emergence of new conceptions of childhood. Among the preliminary findings of this study is that being famous or a celebrity can be a possibility to be a child in contemporary.
