In article the problematics of a sustainable development of the countries of the world and their regions is analyzed. The concept of a sustainable development which is based on idea is offered that quality of life of people and a society condition are under the influence of set of economic, social and ecological factors. The concept of steady ecological development of region is offered. On the basis of the given concept the estimation is spent and the purposes of steady ecological development of the Kharkiv area are generated.<br>В статье анализируется проблематика устойчивого развития стран мира и их регионов. Предлагается концепция устойчивого развития, базирующаяся на идее о том, что качество жизни людей и состояние общества находятся под влиянием совокупности экономических, социальных и экологических факторов. Предлагается концепция устойчивого экологического развития региона. На основании данной концепции проведена оценка и сформированы цели устойчивого экологического развития Харьковской области.
