Summary:This paper addresses the relationship between design, audiovisual production design and transmedia storytelling. Starting from multiple theoretical backgrounds involving design, we aim to explain, understand, and build possible connections between the subjects. To this end, we discuss the cross-curricular teaching and the complex nature of design, we well as the definitions of production design and transmedia storytelling. Finally, we propose reflections on the relationships between the topics. This study intends to improve the comprehension on production design and transmedia storytelling, which includes the understanding of the creative process in design, in order to establish common grounds between these subjects and the design universe.
