The Catholic Church first began relating mass media to its social teaching in the 19th century. Through the documents presented here, the Church has shown a readiness to face the media as well as the possibility to use them for advancing justice, truth, peace and freedom.http://www.centar-fm.org/inmediasres/images/pdf/16/I.%20Balabanic,%20The%20Social%20Doctrine%20and%20Presence%20of%20the%20Catholic%20Church%20in%20the%20Media.pdfsocial doctrine of the churchpapal encyclicalsmeans of social communicationcatholic church and the media
