Description
Summary:Trends in sustainable development of tourism in Romania. This study focuses on a thorough analysis of tourism in Romania, by underlining the issues that support the prerequisites of sustainable development concept. Firstly, we highlight the management and planning patterns of thermal and mineral water in the current health resorts, where hidrographical resources have been used for centuries and have not yet been exhausted. The tourist potential of the Romanian Carpathians and the Black Sea has enabled the development of various forms of tourism and tourist infrastructure suitable for both primary and derived offer. Romania’s integration into the European Union, as well as its complying with the regulations of market economy have led to establishing a new globalized tourism, based on sustainable development, regarding mainly the cultural and rural tourism.
