Summary:Abstract The inclusion of halal labeling is not mandatory or voluntary, but if there is a corporation who manufactures and / or imports processed food into Indonesian territory to be traded by declaring its products as halal products, the processed foodstuff is obliged to include halal labeling and responsible for the halal of its products. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of halal labeling on the circulation of imported processed products and the consequence of the law of circulation of food that is not halal certified in the community. The research in this article uses empirical juridical research methods with data collection techniques through surveys and questionnaires. The results showed that the obligation of labeling in the circulation of imported processed products was less effective in providing legal protection to consumers and the legal consequence was to impose administrative sanctions up to the criminal to business actor. Abstrak Pencantuman labelisasi halal pada dasarnya tidak wajib atau bersifat sukarela, namun jika terdapat pelaku usaha pangan olahan yang memproduksi dan/atau memasukkan pangan olahan ke dalam wilayah Indonesia untuk diperdagangkan dengan menyatakan produknya sebagai produk halal, maka pelaku usaha pangan olahan tersebut wajib mencantumkan labelisasi halal dan bertanggungjawab atas kehalalan produknya. Tujuan penelitian dalamartikelini adalah untuk menganalisis efektifitas hukum labelisasi halal terhadap peredaran produkolahanimpor dan akibat hukum peredaran makanan yang tidak bersertifikat halal di masyarakat. Penelitian dalamartikelini menggunakan metode penelitian yuridis empiris dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui survey dan kuisioner. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkanbahwa kewajibanlabelisasidalamperedaranprodukolahanimpor kurang efektif dalam memberikan perlindungan hukum kepada konsumen dan akibathukumnya adalah menjatuhkan sanksi administratifhinggapidanakepada pelaku usaha.
