The Sirtuins family(histone class III deacetylases), as regulators of a variety of cells, is widely expressed in various organs of the human body. Homologous genes of sirtuins(SIRT1)are also widely expressed in the eyes, and their expression and activation can play an anti-oxidative stress role, prevent cell senescence and damage, and thus prevent the progression of disease.
