Description
Summary:This article analyses critically and dialectically the way how Latin American graduation courses have been the focus of actions which have caused a series of changes aiming at updating and adequating this system to political and economical demands. These changes, in turn, have also altered the profile and historical function of this course. Because of that, in the beginning of this decade, debates about the social role of universities are abandoned and the productivity and efficiency cultures are installed. As a consequence, quality concern as well as management and assessment of the third grade teaching system start to be the focus of national and international forums.
