Vaccination process - theoretical immunization. Taking a preventive pulse in pediatric ages

Introduction: to vaccinate is not enough itself. The vaccine must generate an immune response and memory, which is difficult due to factors that inactivate them and cause the number of people vaccinated to be inconsistent with the number of people immunized, when it is the latter the important facto...

The vaccine must generate an immune response and memory, which is difficult due to factors that inactivate them and cause the number of people vaccinated to be inconsistent with the number of people immunized, when it is the latter the important factor. Aim: to describe the theoretical vaccination-immunization process in the family doctor’s offices from 1 to 4 of the “13 de marzo” polyclinic, during 2018 Method: a retrospective and descriptive study was carried out; the universe was composed of 87 patients from 0 to 18 months of age who received the vaccine during 2018, being included in its totality. Vaccine status, causes of vaccine delay, causes of theoretical inactivation of vaccination and steroid use were evaluated. Descriptive statistics, absolute frequency and relative frequency were used. Results: preterm birth (34,61 %), low weight (28,84 %) and common cold (17,3 %) are the most frequent causes of vaccination delay. Vaccines administered are theoretically inactivated to a greater extent by the concomitant use of steroids (26,43 %), followed by the use in the previous 3 months of intacglobin (11,4 %) and hemoderivatives (6,89 %). Conclusions: the theoretical immunization coverage is below the vaccination coverage, which is a warning. In the case of the triple viral vaccine, the theoretical immunization coverage is markedly decreased due to the concomitant use of steroidshttp://revdosdic.sld.cu/index.php/revdosdic/article/view/53vacunacióninmunizacióninmunoterapia activa
