Summary:Abstract Urban areas are significant places for recreational and tourism activities not only for residents but also for tourists. They combine tourism and recreational functions. Increasing and providing opportunities to pursue both active and passive recreational activities, as well as developing tourism values and infrastructure can contribute to the improvement of tourism attractiveness of an urban agglomeration and the residents’ quality of life. The objective of this article is to identify tourism and recreational activities undertaken by tourists visiting Szczecin in comparison with their activities in other cities.
