Description
Summary:This paper reviews the literature on social capital in order to theoretically propose a framework for research on this issue. Though social capital is a multi-dimensional construct with a disputable common definition, a review shows a widely accepted view that social capital is a formative construct with two components: i) structural (network) and cognitive (trust). In addition, the classification of social capital results in its different roles. This paper proposes the classification and measurement model of social capital including bonding, bridging, bonding-link and bridging-link, which is different from the current theory with bonding, bridging and linking social capital
