The variables analyzed were age, sex and selected diseases (heart diseases, malignant tumors, strokes, influenza and pneumonia) and accidents, potentially lost years of life, trends and prognosis by months and confidence interval. The potentially lost years of life between 1 and 74 years old were calculated for both sexes which expressed the number of years not lived for all causes or for each one, as regards to the procedure for its calculation proposed by the World Health Organization. For the annual prognosis the years from 2009 to 2016 were included, for a better adjustment of the series using an autoregressive integrated model of the moving rate.
Results: the highest number of potentially lost years of life corresponds to malignant tumors and heart diseases; the year 2014 had the highest figures due to these diseases with 17.3 and 11.5 lost years of life by every 1000 inhabitant’s from 1 to 7 years old respectively. The highest values due to strokes, influenza and pneumonia were found in 2015. Accidents had the highest number in the year 2014, during which 4.8 years of life were lost by every 1000 inhabitants from 1 to 74 years.
Conclusion: the highest number of lost years of life corresponds to malignant tumors and heart diseases with 17,3 y 11,5 lost years of life by every 1000 inhabitants from 1 to 74 years respectively in the studied triennium.http://revfinlay.sld.cu/index.php/finlay/article/view/602años potenciales de vida perdidoscausa de muertecuba
