| Summary: | This paper tries to describe, as simply as possible, the current global area of Translation Studies, showing the directions ollowed until now, but it also discusses some of the external perspectives that have focused on these matters. Thus, a set of common ideas known to the general public, but also a set of essential notions to what is translation are presented. Furthermore, all the possible approaches and framework perspectives within the work market for students and professionals of this area are also presented in the paper.
