maioria das empresas familiar possui cultura organizacional baseada nos valores da fam&iacute;lia propriet&aacute;ria. Embora perfeitamente control&aacute;vel, o clima organizacional torna-se disperso, considerando que muitas vezes os neg&oacute;cios atravessam a fronteira da empresa e avan&ccedil;am &agrave; casa dos respons&aacute;veis, confundem-se as atribui&ccedil;&otilde;es e responsabilidades dos membros da fam&iacute;lia e da empresa. Nesse sentido, este estudo visa analisar o perfil das empresas familiares do setor tur&iacute;stico de Blumenau, SC. Os procedimentos metodol&oacute;gicos foram pesquisas bibliogr&aacute;ficas, seguidas de um estudo de caso. Para a coleta de dados, o instrumento escolhido foi a entrevista. Foram entrevistadas 101 empresas familiares dentro de uma amostra de 134 para um universo de 211 empresas. Atrav&eacute;s do resultado da pesquisa, pode-se tra&ccedil;ar o seguinte perfil gen&eacute;rico das mesmas: a) A maioria das empresas &eacute; de pequeno e m&eacute;dio porte; b) estas organiza&ccedil;&otilde;es n&atilde;o planejam suas gest&otilde;es e apresentam uma forma de tomada de decis&atilde;o reativa, n&atilde;o se antecipando &agrave;s mudan&ccedil;as do mercado; c) n&atilde;o possuem uma estrutura formal de poder e responsabilidades; d) apresentam estrutura organizacional centralizada; e) n&atilde;o controlam sua &aacute;rea financeira e quando o fazem, normalmente delegam a seus contadores; f) n&atilde;o encontram dificuldades na administra&ccedil;&atilde;o de recursos humanos; g) n&atilde;o delegam fun&ccedil;&otilde;es e decis&otilde;es, conseq&uuml;entemente n&atilde;o trabalham em equipe e, h) preferem a remunera&ccedil;&atilde;o por fun&ccedil;&atilde;o &ndash; sal&aacute;rio fixo &ndash; em detrimento a remunera&ccedil;&atilde;o por m&eacute;rito &ndash; sal&aacute;rio vari&aacute;vel &ndash; de seus funcion&aacute;rios. Pode-se concluir que s&atilde;o estruturas centralizadoras e pouco empreendedoras. Portanto, para tornarem-se mais competitivas &eacute; necess&aacute;rio rever suas atuais pr&aacute;ticas de gest&atilde;o. &Eacute; importante que todos os agentes respons&aacute;veis pelo desenvolvimento do turismo &ndash; governo, empresas tur&iacute;sticas, escolas, institui&ccedil;&otilde;es de apoio ao setor e comunidade &ndash; percebam esta realidade e direcione seus esfor&ccedil;os ou maior parte deles, para o aux&iacute;lio &agrave;s empresas familiares tur&iacute;sticas e &agrave;s pequenas empresas do setor.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Palavras-chave</strong>: Gest&atilde;o familiar; Empresas de Servi&ccedil;os Tur&iacute;sticos; Blumenau.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span lang="EN-US">ABSTRAT</span></strong></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Majority familiar businesses have an organizational culture based on the owner family values. Although it is perfectly in control, the organizational climate become disperse, considering that many times businesses cross the trade frontier and advance to the owners home, confounding family members and businesses attributions and responsibilities. In this way, this study aims to analyze the familiar businesses profile in tourism sector in Blumenau, SC. The methodology procedures used were bibliography researches, followed by a study about the case. To collect information, the interview was the chosen instrument. The interviews were accomplished with 101 familiar businesses from a sample of 134 in the universe of 211 enterprises. Through the research result it's possible to outline the following generic profile to them: a) the majority are small or middle enterprises; b) these organizations don't plan their management and present a reactive form of decision, they don't antecipate the market changes; c) they don't have a formal structure of power and responsibilities; d) they present a centralized organizational structure; e) they don't control their financial area and when they do, it's normally delegated to the accountant; f) they don't find difficulties in human resources administration; g) they don't delegate functions and decisions, consequently they don't work in team and; h) they prefer a remuneration according to the function - a fixed salary - instead of a merit remuneration - variable salary - of their workers. It's possible to conclude that they are centralizer structures and few undertaker. Therefore, to turn them more competitive it's necessary to review their present management practices. It's important that all the agents responsible for tourism development - government, touristic enterprises, schools, support institutions of the sector and community - note this reality and direct theirs efforts, or the majority of them, to help the touristic familiar enterprises and small enterprises of the sector.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span lang="EN-US">Key-words</span></strong><span lang="EN-US">:<span>&nbsp; </span>Familiar businesses; touristic enterprises ;Blumenau</span></p>
