Environment and Health: the perception of comunity health agents in Itapetinga, Bahia

After the advent of industrial revolution in the XIX century, the technological knowledge increased quickly, creating impact through process of town planning and industrialization, environment problems appeared, the population was affected and also public health services. The teams of family health program have as employees the community health agents (ACS) that work with the communities. They know about real necessities and help in environment healthcare. In this way, the meaning of this research was to analyse the knowledge about the relation between environment and health from the ACS, interacted with family units of health at Itapetinga city. For that, was made describing analysis of quality and quantity through structured interactive interview questionnaire. Was noticed that the ACS understand that environment is related to outside influences, nevertheless they are concerned with the environment is question. We also understand the lack of capacities to extent conception or idea about the subject. Conception of health from the ACS Is not well understand, when there are not considered ecological and social aspects. Although 100% of them can understand relation between health and environment.
