Summary:Background & Purpose: Iran Iraq war had a significant impact on public health veterans and their families, the aim of this study was Province Comparison of general health between veterans their spouses in Ilam. Materials & Methods: In this cross-sectional study 112 veterans with their spouses were randomly selected, the Data was collected by the general health questionnaire (GHQ) in four aspects of physical symptoms, anxiety, social function and depression. The Data analyzed by using SPSS software and nonparametric test and Spearman correlation. A p-value less than 0.05 was considered as significant. Results: The mean age of participants was 44.55 ± 8.04 years and the mean age of their spouses was 40/8 ± 6.48 years. The results shows the significant relation between general health (GH) and somatic symptom (p=0.000), anxiety (p=0.045), depression (p=0.02) and GH (p=0.017) dimension of veterans and their spouses. Also, a significant relationship was found between gender and somatic symptom (p=0.005), anxiety (p=0.000) and GH (p=0.025). The relation between veterans percentage and somatic symptom (p=0.042), anxiety (p=0.004) and depression (p=0.0108) was significant but the relationship between history of hospitalization and kind of veterans with GH dimensions was not significant. Concluion: According to significant relation between GH of veterans and their spouses are suggested that in interventional program Veterans and their spouses to be considered.
