Description
Summary:Adaptation to productivity and profitability in agriculture has led to the increasing use of agrochemicals in crops. The "Agrochemicals Law" makes recommendations on the correct use of these products, from the identification of pests and diseases, to their correct use, to the disposal of the packages. Based on these recommendations, the objective of this study was to characterize the management of agrochemicals in rural properties in the Valley of São Francisco, Bahia by means of descriptors such as the form of obtaining the agronomic prescription, the transportation and storage of pesticides and the care taken during the use of these products. The data collection was done directly using a questionnaire. Data were described using the methods and techniques of descriptive statistics. Poor management practices were observed, including the use of PPE, compliance with the grace period and proper disposal of empty containers within the period established by law, which may pose a greater risk to human health and to the environment.
