Description
Summary:The case report of a 55 years patient is presented, with a history of hypertension that didn't improve with the treatment, admitted in the Gastroenterology Service of “Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso” Teaching General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, with the presumptive diagnosis of chronic diarrheal disease. When hidden blood was found in stools the colonoscopy was indicated. Taking into account that the values of the blood pressure were altered, sedation was contraindicated in its traditional form, so that the acupunctural surgical analgesia was used.  The procedure was carried out successfully and a degree II colitis was diagnosed, extended toward the left angle of the colon.
