The prevalence of nephrolithiasis is reported to be increasing worldwide. Among all cases of nephrolithiasis, the frequency of uric acid nephrolithiasis ranges from 5 to 40%; that of nephrolithiasis in gout is, according to the data by different authors, 7 to 10%. Hyperuricosuria, low urine volume, and low urine pH are considered to be classical risk factors for uric acid nephrolithiasis. Uric acid nephrolithiasis, including that in gout, even if asymptomatic, is noted to require active therapy. The paper presents the basic principles of treatment for uric acid nephrolithiasis: to normalize urine pH; to eliminate or neutralize the sequels of hyperuricosuria, to correct comorbidities, and to increase urine.http://mrj.ima-press.net/index.php/mrj/article/view/381nephrolithiasisgouthyperuricemiahyperuricosuria.
