Description
Summary:Pressured by donors and part of civil society, the Burkinabe State adopted in 2015 an ambitious law establishing a universal health insurance scheme. The objective is to guarantee each resident the costs of curative, preventive, promotional and re-adaptive care services. The operationalization of the system is today highly compromised due to a plurality of difficulties including funding (internal and external), the inefficient organization of the health system, the low internalization of insurance principles by future social insured, the distrust of actors, opposition from the main union structures.
