Description
Summary:After having discussed the criteria which can be selected to evaluate disciplinary relationship between semiotics and the field of information and communication, this paper aims to consider the common interest that both approaches can express for mediation phenomena, as taken in an anthropological perspective. Indeed, when they are not simply defined by their objects, media or signs, information and communication studies and semiotics can converge towards questions of sense and relation. This statement leads to open an espistemological territory which allows to draw both fields together, to host semiotics studies more properly than linguistics do, and to strenghten a part of studies in communication and information.
