Description
Summary:In this paper, we examine several French verbs, which can refer to a form of similarity. The notion of similarity appears to be contradictory, if we consider in the same way the identity and the difference between the elements being compared. Within the framework of the Theory of the Predicative and Enunciative Operations, these concepts are conceived as the result of the operations of identification and differentiation. These operations can be linked to different parameters, such as the point of view, the qualitative properties, and the relationships between the notion and its occurrences. The verbs of similarity taken into consideration show particularities in this respect. This leads us to distinguish different kinds of categorization and characterization, as well as various modes of selection of the locator, in order to elaborate the analysis of the verbs of similarity.
