Summary: | In order to make life easier, people are obliged to make different vehicles with
the materials available in the environment. These tools, which are shaped according to
their needs, have become vital priorities such as defense and nutrition. The first design
models were a container for food, a spoon, a knife to defend itself, arrows, and so on.
In the course of the process, the creation process of products that respond to physical
as well as spiritual needs has begun. After the industrial revolution, conventional
methods for designing objects have been abandoned, and they have come up with
completely different solutions, dealing with object-user relations. With the design
concept gaining a new dimension, the spiritual structure in product design has been
abandoned.Today's needs in product design are decisive factors that shape design. In
order to meet these needs, existing problems need to be identified. The "problem
determination" phase, one of the starting points of the design process, has been one of
the most important elements to be properly identified to make useful design. It is
ensured that the design is transformed into a product after the phases such as observing
the environment, identifying the identified problems, developing solution methods and
applying them to the application. In this study; the problem-oriented approach in design
has been exemplified and examined in order to solve the existing problems with an
approach to problem-solution oriented approaches in industrial ceramics design and
production process by reducing them to the field of ceramics.
