Description
Summary:This paper deals with the tendency towards the increase in female migration and uses as a paradigm the example of the migration of Philippine females to Spain. The starting point is the connection between the processes associated with globalization and other numerous changes which have led to the exodus of Philippine women to work as domestic servants in the large cities of the south of Europe. Finally, the various issues which have been used to illustrate this paper converge in an overall vision of this specific situation which is considered as an “icon of domesticity”.
