Summary:Fibromyalgia (FM) is a disease not clear framework and multifactorial nature. The etymology of its word indicates a symptomatology characterized by pain, numbness and muscle cramps, joint stiffness, skidding, insomnia, depression, headache. These are issues that too often in our outpatient activities to describe how we feel in the performance of the most disabling normal actions of the patient's life. In modern clinical approach they find space different types of therapies and drugs, managed by many physicians. Next to the purely chemical therapy are also aerobic exercise, cognitive behavioral therapy, biofeedback, hypnotherapy, your muscles, balneotherapy, etc. Today, in this complex environment management of the disease, acupuncture has its place, and it is described in many international publications. This work has the purpose of highlighting the role of acupuncture in the FM analyzing and deepening what the most recent international literature shows us.
