Development and use of national information resources as the basis for digital economy development

The paper considers the national information resources as the most important basis for the development of the digital economy, the classification of sources and main suppliers of various groups of information resources in the course of digital transformation of society. The digital economy is a new economic category, the "Informatization stage", in which electronic data becomes a new key element of the economy that affects the added value. The World Bank has defined the digital economy as a system of economic and socio-cultural relations based on the maximum use of digital information resources, information and communication technologies. Information resources are an important part of national wealth, and the efficiency of its use largely determines the economic power of any country. This work is based on the data obtained by domestic science in the 80-ies of the last century and the new data from modern sources associated with the use of national information resources. The subject of the study is the development of the national information resource as the basis of the digital economy. Based on the results of the analysis of the current state, the major directions of further development of national information resources are formulated. The paper focuses on the use of the consolidated information resource of Russia, as well as the main directions of information space design. In conclusion, the scientific and methodological prospects of using the information component of the digital economy are formulated.
