Summary: | Since its establishment in 2008, Rwanda’s National Commission for the Fight against Genocide has held the task of managing the memory of the 1994 genocide. This article focuses on the evolution of memory practices since the adoption of the new Rwandan Constitution in 2003, as well as on the inception of a public policy of memory. With a focus on actors and the legal framework, this article analyses what is at stake in post-genocide Rwanda as the country aims to move toward reconciliation. |
